Though the recently held Keraleeyam event, organised to commemorate Kerala’s cultural heritage on its 67th state anniversary, attracted significant attention for various reasons, pictures featuring two persons took social media by storm and Malayalees from all corners expressed immense love for these images.
The pictures showcased the core pillars of the Malayalam film industry, Mammootty and Mohanlal, seated side by side in white shirts and dhotis. Both actors also shared the picture on their respective social media accounts.

Meanwhile, Mammootty, while speaking to the media as part of promoting his upcoming movie Kaathal – The Core in Kochi on Monday, opened up about spending some time with Mohanlal at the Keraleeyam event and delved into the nature of their conversations.
When queried about whether they discussed their upcoming projects, Mammootty mentioned that conversations about their professional lives were limited as they had a variety of other topics to explore. He stated, “We are well informed about each other’s upcoming projects. Additionally, we didn’t have an extended period together during that event.”
In response to a reporter’s questions about whether he was eagerly anticipating any specific Mohanlal movies, Mammootty replied affirmatively, though without specifying any titles. Noting that he consistently watches all movies, Mammootty playfully asked the media person with a light-hearted smile, “Are you a Lal fan?,” sparking laughter among the gathered reporters.

Addressing recent discussions on “review bombing,” Mammootty wondered whether a single review could significantly impact a film. “Every review reflects an individual’s viewpoint. I don’t think stopping reviews would save cinema. The destiny of a movie is determined by the audiences. As I’ve mentioned before, we all have the right to exercise freedom of speech and express our opinions. However, the opinions we express should be our own,” he added.
Mammootty is currently gearing up for the release of Jeo Baby’s Kaathal – The Core, in which he will share the screen with Tamil star Jyotika.
Penned by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria, who scripted the Malayalam film Neymar, Kaathal – The Core is bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany and will hit the screens on November 23.
