Karthik Subbaraj, SJ Suryah, Raghava Lawrence, Santhosh Narayanan, and the other cast and crew members of Jigarthanda DoubleX came together for the success meet of the film, which has received critical acclaim and audiences’ support. Speaking at the event, Karthik said that the film received divine blessings as many good things happened to it by accident. Raghava expressed his intent to work with Karthik again and Suryah also heaped praise on the director. However, the highlight of the event turned out to be Karthik’s reply to a reporter who called Jigarthanda DoubleX’s heroine Nimisha Sajayan ‘not beautiful’.’

After the speeches of the cast and crew of Jigarthanda DoubleX, the floor was open for questions. One of the reporters at the event asked Karthik how he cast Nimisha ‘who is not that beautiful and made her perform well’. Karthi replied, “How can you say that she is not beautiful? It is your mindset, I guess. It is wrong to say someone is not beautiful. That is a wrong judgement.”
Karthik Subbaraj’s reply was met with claps from everyone including SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence. Santhosh Narayanan, who was also present at the success meet, later took to X to slam the reporter and called out his malicious intent to create a controversy. “I was there. It was not just about the ridiculous ‘beauty’ question for the reporter. There was a conscious effort from the guy to ask something controversial and he was so proud after asking this. Nothing has changed since the appalling ‘Jigarthanda’ – ‘Figuredhanda’ question 9 years ago,” SaNa wrote.
Nimisha Sajayan didn’t attend the event. The actor, who was also recently seen in Siddharth’s Chittha, is getting praise for her back-to-back good performances. Nimisha, a Malayalam actor, made her silver screen debut in 2017 in an uncredited role in C/O Saira Banu. She has been part of many notable films like Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, The Great Indian Kitchen, Nayattu, and Oru Thekkan Thallu Case. In Jigarthanda DoubleX, she played the role of a tribal woman named Malaiyarasi–a strong-headed wife of gangster Alliyan Caesar (Raghava Lawrence).
