Davidowicza, from New Jersey, was visiting Turtle Back Zoo when he spotted the labrador retriever dog inside the cheetah cage.

In case you are wondering what’s the doggo doing in the cheetah cage, here’s the answer.

The dog named Bowie is a companion for Nandi, an African cheetah.

Turtle Back Zoo raises its ambassador cheetahs with puppies to boost their confidence.

Nandi and Bowie have been together for years. The pair often attends events to educate the public on conserving the lives of big cats.

Bowie follows Nandi everywhere which makes the wild cat always feel comfortable and reassured.

According to the Turtle Back Zoo, Nandi has gained the confidence of a dog and “always has Bowie to turn to in new situations.”

Cheetahs are known to be animals with high stress and anxiety. They are often paired with support dogs at zoos.

Cheetahs are listed as vulnerable by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). It is estimated that there are only 7,100 cheetahs left in the wild.
