‘They drove me crazy’ – Ex-Anderlecht boss slams Vincent Kompany’s ‘bulls*** stories’ and ‘nonsense’ scouting system

Burnley have been warned to beware of Vincent Kompany’s “bull***t” – by his predecessor as Anderlecht boss.

Manchester City legend Kompany has taken charge of the relegated Clarets following three years at the Belgian giants.

Kompany failed to restore his country’s biggest club to their former glories, and the 36-year-old came under fire for his “Trust the Process” motto.

Johan Boskamp, who led Anderlecht to three titles in the 1990s, has now savaged the 89-cap international.

The Dutchman, who managed Stoke during the 2005-6 season, has also coached seven other top Belgian sides and Georgia’s national team.

Boskamp, 73, fumed: “Kompany’s style of play was a breath of fresh air – but his bull***t stories about ‘The Process’ certainly weren’t.

“They drove me crazy. Whoever becomes Anderlecht coach knows that he has to win the league title – end of story.

“If you still haven’t done it after three years in charge, it is normal for people to lose patience with you.

“That ‘Trust the Process’ phrase scared the s**t out of me. Ditto for that c**p data they now use as a basis for scouting.

“True football experts recognise talent with the naked eye. They don’t rely on numbers in a computer to scout players.

“All that nonsense drives me mad.”

Kompany has meanwhile been linked with a host of Anderlecht’s players as he plots Burnley’s instant Premier League return.

Standard Liege’s DR Congo striker Jackson Muleka is the latest name linked with a move following an impressive spell on loan to Turks Kasimpasa.

Liege want £4million for the 22-year old, who is also a target for Super Lig giants Galatasaray and Besiktas.

Belgian media have previously claimed the Clarets want Mauves trio Majeed Ashimeru, Josh Cullen and Sergio Gomez.

Kompany made 359 appearances for Man City over 11 years with the club.

He contributed to 30 goals in that time including a thunderbolt against Leicester City to help City win the 2019 title ahead of Liverpool.
