Due to strong Easterlies, Pune and its surrounding region are expected to receive light to moderate rain in the next 48 hours. Anupam Kashyapi, head, weather forecasting, India Meteorological Department (IMD), said a single spell of heavy rainfall is not ruled out for the city.

Kashyapi said the temperature in the city would start increasing from Tuesday afternoon. This would be due to the incursion of moisture and cloud cover over the city which the Easterlies would bring. Pune along with other parts of the state is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall from November 24.

The rainfall would continue till November 25, post which the cloud cover would clear up. The rainfall, IMD said, would be light to moderate but an occasional spell of heavy rainfall is not ruled out.
