Actor Shilpa Shetty has many iconic dance numbers to her credit but the most popular among all is “Main Aayi Hoon UP Bihar Lootne” in the film Shool (1999). Recently, the actor opened up about the making of the song, revealing that she was not given any specific steps by the choreographer of the song, Ahmed Khan. She was just told to do some ‘latka jhatkas’ and have fun with the song.

While speaking to Kusha Kapila, Shilpa shared that she had the most fun shooting for ‘Main Aayi Hoon UP Bihar Lootne’. She said, “The choreographer of that song, Ahmed Khan, is a good friend of mine. He just turned on the camera and said, ‘Kuch latke jhatke maar le (do some dance steps)’. So, what you saw that happened very organically. I was just literally grooving to the beat.”

Shilpa also revealed that her outfit for the song was prepared at her home, two hours before she had to take a flight for the shoot. “I remember they made my outfit two days before the shoot. She was pasting ‘tiklis’ on my ‘ghaghra’ two hours before my flight. My flight was going to take off in two hours, and they were at my place pasting things to my dress because they didn’t have time to stitch it.”

But amid the chaos, Shilpa and the team had fun working on the song. “We did it from our heart and had a lot of fun while making it,” the actor said.

She shared with Zoom Entertainment, “He was very upset when I decided to take up ‘UP Bihar…’ and thank God I did, because it brought me back in the news. But my director Dharmesh ji, I remember was very upset because Anjali, the character (in Dhadkan) was someone who was supposed to be very classy and cannot be a nautch girl. With due respect to him, I felt it was a decision I should take in my life.”
