If living life to the fullest was a person, it would definitely be Luisa Yu, a 79-year-old woman who has set her foot in 193 countries in the last fifty years. It had always been her life-long dream to travel around the world and she made sure she could achieve that.
What’s even more impressive is the title she was given by travel enthusiasts. In an interview with NBC 6, she said, “They call me Mama because I am the oldest and they are young.”
When asked which was her favourite country, she named Italy, the Philippines, and Thailand. “Don’t be afraid, just go. Don’t wait for anybody; because if you wait, it will never happen,” she advised the youth.
Yu is about to turn 80 in a few months and she is really happy with how things have turned out for her. “I did fulfill my dream. I was able to buy a house on my own. I was able to travel on my own,” she said.
She added, “I’m just happy. I want to thank all the people that have been so nice and kind to me.”
